You always hear "wear your safety glasses when using cutting tools" etc., and of course that is good advice, but I have discovered that one of the most dangerous places for your eyes is when you are demolishing walls, fences, etc. I can't tell you how many times I've narrowly missed my eye with a bent nail in a board that I was swinging around while breaking down something. I usually anticipate this now but I still find myself tearing down some old structure with no glasses on. Makes me feel like a total idiot every time. Don't take the chance!
